Christmas TreeThe Foodbank will be closed over Christmas and New Year from 4.30pm on Tuesday 16th December to 8.30am on Tuesday 6th January 2015.  For any agencies who are open between those dates and who require food parcels please let us know before 9th December how many bags you require and what type (single couple or family).  We will then arrange for them to be available for collection from the Silklife Centre before we close for the holiday.  (Please note the building will only be open until 11am for collections on the 16th).  The donation box in Sainsbury’s will also be closed from Monday 22nd December to Monday 5th January to enable our volunteers who empty the box to have a Christmas break.  Thanks so much for all your support this year!

20141118_111206 (1)Here’s just some the Advent calendars you have generously donated! We have already been delivering them with our family parcels and next week we will be taking them to the Children’s Centres, Watermill House, Barnardos and a couple of homeless hostels. They will really make a difference to the children who otherwise wouldn’t receive one. Thanks so much!

    Comedians Launch Advent Calendar Collection

    by  • November 1, 2014 • Donations, Silklife Foodbank

Advent Lots have people have been in touch after comedians Justin Moorhouse and Jason Manford launched a nationwide campaign to urge people to donate Advent Calendars to Foodbanks to give to children who otherwise wouldn’t receive one. We would love to give them to families we are working with and to pass to agencies who support families in Macclesfield so if you would like to donate a calendar please do so through the donation box in Sainsbury’s or at the Silklife Centre on a Tuesday morning.  Thanks so much!
