A big thank you to Brassingtons Bakery who have offered donations of fresh bread on a weekly basis. We now have the capacity to freeze some fresh food and are looking forward to including bread in our food parcels. Kari Sellers, a director at Brassingtons said in the Macclesfield Express “We are so happy to be able to donate bread and make life a bit easier for them. It’s a staple that most people take for granted. As a local business we’re proud to be helping the local community.” We are very grateful to Brassingtons and to Peak and Plains who provided funding for the freezers.
We were very pleasantly surprised when a Tesco van turned up at the Silklife Centre today with 52 crates of food! Unbeknown to us, Tesco in Macclesfield had organised a collection and their generous staff and customers donated an astonishing amount of food! Thank you so much!
Thanks to a grant from Macclesfield based housing association, Peaks and Plains, we now have two large freezers to store fresh food for our food parcels. The freezers were supplied by Royals Electrical on Park Lane who generously offered a discounted price. We are so grateful for the support from local businesses and look forward to offering fresh food in the future.
